Boston, MA (April 2, 2018) – Lincoln Property Company Boston (LPC) is pleased to announce that Tim Latham, Senior Vice President & Chris Devaux, Vice President recently represented Autism Behavioral Center, Inc. (ABC) in its successful purchase of One Whitney Road in Berlin, MA from One Whitney Road, LLC. The 37,114 RSF office/retail building will serve as the company’s new headquarters.
Autism Behavioral Center’s mission is to provide comprehensive individualized treatment through in-home and in-center treatment in both one-on-one and group settings. Autism Behavioral Center previous headquarters was located at 386 West Main Street in Northborough. The company was looking to maintain a West Suburban location to accommodate their continued growth, while securing a location with some retail visibility and better access to I-495/I-290.
Finding the ideal office building with retail presence in the right location was a multifaceted endeavor. When comparing the benefits of leasing versus buying, ABC quickly determined that their preference would be in owning and occupying any future facility. Fortunately, One Whitney Road in Berlin, MA checked the boxes and the transaction was made financially feasible when a sale-leaseback with Pure Hockey, the previous owner, was secured.
“When the opportunity at One Whitney Road presented itself, it matched up well with the Tenant’s needs. The area off the Donald Lynch Boulevard exit on I-290 has been undergoing significant development and we believe this will be a good long-term real estate investment for Autism Behavioral Center. We’re excited we were able to work with ABC, as their work helping autistic children makes a positive impact on the community and the families they serve,” said Latham.
